Do you rely on creativity in your work? Want to share your experience, insights and expertise with students? Are you looking to connect with professional colleagues and prospective interns or full-time hires? Then you definitely shouldn’t miss MSU’s sixth annual Creative Arts Forum!
This is not your typical career event. But if you’re interested in connecting with creative professionals and students interested in pursuing a creative career path, this is the event for you. Candidates for these types of jobs are not usually recruited through the more “conventional” routes of on-campus interviews, career fairs, etc and this year we’re jumping right out of the career event box!
In the past, the CAF has been structured like a conference with concurrent sessions organized around a specific theme/field, networking breaks, and a reception. But we think you want more.
The 2009 CAF will kick off with a 90-minute session composed of 15 short, interactive presentations featuring a wide range of diverse professionals, organizations and fields. Immediately following, students and professionals can chat, exchange information and build or strengthen relationships while enjoying refreshments during the Student & Professional Mixer.
The CAF is for students in all majors and at all stages—just getting started, exploring options, actively looking for a job or internship. MSU’s Career Services Network hosts this event designed to give students to get an inside look at paths available with more creative-minded employers.
There are multiple registration options:
1) Participate in the presentation session by giving a 5-minute presentation (no more than 20 PowerPoint slides) and attend the Student & Professional Mixer
2) Participate in the presentation session only
3) Sit in on the presentation session and attend the Student & Professional Mixer
4) Attend the Student & Professional Mixer only
Wondering what you might talk about? Check out our Creative Arts Forum Talking Points to get ideas for your presentation. We encourage you to be creative—use images, humor, audio, etc. to illustrate your work.
Presentation slots are limited—REGISTER NOW! We know you have a busy schedule, and we value the time you take out of your day to come to campus. However, because we also value the opportunity for our students to connect with professionals and build their network, preference will be given to presenters who are able to stay for at least a portion of the Mixer.
