Career Assessment Information
During the first one-on-one appointment a career advisor will spend some time getting to know the student, his/her situation, and his/her needs and expectations. This process helps the advisor identify the best assessment for the student! Each assessment takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete. The Holland Self-Directed Search must be completed in the office but the others can be completed on-line. A follow-up appointment will be needed to review and interpret the results from the assessment and consider the next step. To refer a student for an individual session, please have them make an appointment using the on-line system at http://careernetwork.msu.edu/students/advising.
If you would like to have a career advisor present a workshop on an assessment to your academic class or student group, please click the following link to make a request through our workshop page. We request a month notice to book presentations. You will need to have students complete the assessment at least one week PRIOR to the in-class presentation to allow us time to score. Please note that the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator have a per student fee associated with them for classroom presentations.
