Residential Mentor (Full-Time, 40 hours/week + meals/housing)
The residential mentor staff are directly responsible for the safety, security, and well-being of program participants. Mentor staff will reside in the residence hall, alongside students and encourage active, positive, and engaging behavior. Mentor staff will address and enforce student regulations and rules, accompany students to classes, as well as supervise evening/weekend recreational activities. They will serve as leaders within the program, and will strive to have positive interactions and relationships with participants, in order to ensure every student’s experience in ESSA exceeds their expectations.
Academic Coach (Part-Time, 20 hours/week + meals/housing)
The academic coaching staff are responsible for reinforcing skills and concepts introduced to students within their courses. They will attend nightly recitation sessions, and assist students with the following: Completing homework assignments, preparing for quizzes, and mastering course content.
Teaching Assistant (Part-Time, 20 hours/week + meals/housing)
The teaching assistant staff are responsible for assisting the course instructors, in providing a rigorous and rewarding learning experience. Teaching assistants will coordinate with course instructors, in order to: Develop/grade quizzes and exams, keep track of course materials, and assist with daily instruction of course content. Teaching assistants are needed for courses in the following subject areas: Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science Engineering.
Instructor (Part-Time, 10-15 hours/week + Stipend)
The instructional staff are responsible for the development, instruction, monitoring, and evaluation of math, biology, or chemistry subject areas. Instructors oversee teaching assistants, develop lectures, quizzes, tests, and homework assignments.
Program Coordinator (Full-Time, 40 hours/week + meals/housing)
The Program Coordinator assists the management team with management and oversight of the program. This individual has a wide-span of roles and responsibilities. The program coordinator must: Supervise staff, transport staff/participants to necessary destinations, coordinate daytime and evening recreational program activities, as well as, mediate/adjudicate conflicts and concerns that arise during the program.
Photographer (Part-Time, 5-10 hours/week + stipend)
The ESSA photographer will be responsible for capturing images and videos of program participants and staff, during academic and social activities. The photographer will need to be equipped with their own high quality camera/photography equipment. The time commitment for this position is flexible.
