As part of the team, this position helps by performing the following tasks: data entry, developing and running data reports, mailing, email correspondence, customer service, event preparation, team meeting attendance, input, and minute taking, filing, and other general office tasks. This position would also assist in the development of policies, procedures, and trainings. Attention to detail and ability to communicate verbally and in writing are critical skills for this position. In addition, the individual in this role will be responsible for researching resources to support kinship families and team members.
This person must have exceptional interpersonal skills; be adept at making quick decisions, detail and priority focused, collaborative and able to manage several tasks at one time. Candidates must have a demonstrated history of experience working with and protecting confidential information. Finally, this individual must have demonstrated experience working both independently and effectively with a team and with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
MISSION:
The mission of the Kinship Care Resource Center (KCRC) is to support and empower all of Michigan’s kinship families through responsive information and referral services, education and training, and outreach and engagement with caregivers, service providers and communities to ensure that children in kinship families are safe, healthy, nurtured and loved.
LOCATION:
This position will be in person at Baker Hall, located at 655 Auditorium Drive East Lansing, MI 48824.
HOURS:
This position requires a minimum of 15 hours of work and a maximum of 29 hours of work per week. Student must be available weekdays during the daytime availability for a majority of those hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first and second year of college; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience providing clerical support; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook); Use of scanning and copying equipment, survey software.
DESIRED:
Experience using Salesforce or equivalent CRM system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
Central Registry Clearance documenting that there is no record of child abuse or neglect.
Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) check and a National and State Sex Offender Registry check.
