Construction/Urban Planning/Landscape Design

This interest field is for students who are interested in applying artistic, cultural, scientific and technical knowledge to the analysis, design, planning, development and management of land.  This includes urban and regional planning, economic development, resource conservation, and stewardship of land.  It also encompasses building and construction management through land acquisition and development, architectural and engineering design, and construction technology. Career paths exist in supervisory and managerial roles within contracting and real estate organizations, as well as finance and marketing roles within commercial and residential construction.  Other potential employers include local and federal government agencies, in addition to private consulting and design firms.
