Overview
Michigan State’s Career Services Network is looking to hire one undergraduate College of Education Teacher Preparation Program student to work as a Peer Advisor for the upcoming fall semester, 2025. We are seeking a creative and innovative student who is personable and passionate about helping fellow College of Education students achieve their major and career goals/aspirations.
As a Peer Advisor you will work with the Assistant Director of Career Services for the College of Education to help connect students to campus resources, work one-on-one with students and advise them on resume and cover letters, assist with events and communications, promote College of Education Career Services as well as present on career-related topics to student organizations within the college.
To be successful in this position, applicants must be reliable and motivated, demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail, display a willingness to learn, and possess proven leadership skills. Qualified applicants must also be able to work independently and feel comfortable taking initiative and expressing their opinion.
Within this role, Peer Advisors receive training and experience to further develop them into effective campus leaders while equipping them with transferable skills that are needed for professional success at MSU and beyond. Peer Advisors also have the opportunity to foster relationships with both students and professionals within the College of Education, Career Services, and throughout campus.
This position will begin Fall 2025, with training beginning in the spring of 2024 or prior to the beginning of the Fall semester. The Peer Advisor hired will be required to complete the entirety of the training process prior to meeting one-on-one with students. This position begins training at a pay rate of $13/hour.

Requirements
To qualify for this position, the applicant must be a full time undergraduate College of Education student in the Teacher Preparation Program with sophomore or junior status (as of Fall 2025) and in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The applicant must be willing to commit to a minimum of 2 semesters as a Career Peer Advisor. This is a paid position with the expectation of working up to 8 hours per week September 2025 – May 2026 excluding holiday breaks.
