The Global Observatory for Ecosystem Services (GOES) in the Department of Forestry is seeking a Student Technical Assistant for the Spring 2023 semester. The student will be responsible for supporting the analysis of geospatial data using ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine software and also running machine learning models within the ICER HPCC environment.
Duties:
- Complete ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine software analysis of geospatial data
- Run machine learning models in the GOES Lab ICER HPCC environment
- Document analyses processes and archive geospatial data sets
Applicants should have some experience using ArcGIS software and/or ERDAS Imagine (or other Remote Sensing software) and comfortable working in a computer-intensive laboratory environment. The job will be in-person (101 Manly Miles Bldg.) and remote work cannot be accommodated. The student will be trained and supervised by GOES staff.
