Position Summary:
This is a paid, part-time position within the Marketing and Communications Department for the MSU Innovation Center. As a MarComms intern, you will be part of a team of storytellers responsible for developing and executing content in a variety of mediums and across multiple channels including articles/blog postings, video, and graphics on our website, for printed pieces and on our social media channels. The team welcomes storytellers with skills in audio/visual, social media, graphic design, and writing. Playing to team member strengths, all interns are cross-trained further to hone their knowledge, skills, and abilities as they prepare for professional roles in marketing and strategic communications, broadcasting & cinematic arts, business marketing, graphic design, and consumer research analytics.
Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of AP and CMS style guides
- Understanding of social media best practices and motivated by social trends
- Passion for storytelling
- Ability to spot a story and the willingness to chase it down
- File management skills
- Co-working task management
- Strong multi-tasking ability
- Strong communication skills

- Excellent starting pay – $17.50/hour
Minimum Requirements:
Successful applicants must be in good academic standing and can commit to at least 10-15 hours per week toward work. Summer hours available. Training begins immediately.
