The MSU Library is looking for a student employee to assist with many tasks related to User Experience Design and Graphic Design. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for visual design, is experienced in Figma (wireframes and prototypes), and is content with both intricate and complex tasks, as well as tedious and repetitive tasks. Applicants without a portfolio will not be considered.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles and practices, including but not limited to: typography, typesetting, graphic creation/manipulation, Gestalt, and color theory
  • Demonstrated ability to create a balanced page layout and composition. Examples can be for web or print.
  • Working knowledge of print and web accessibility best practices
  • Proficiency in both Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Proficiency in Figma at an intermediate level or above
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Detail orientation, especially:
    • Accuracy in scheduling and email communication
    • Proofreading

Desired:

  • Experience and proficiency in working with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign
