Location: Forest Akers Golf Course East/West
Pay rate: $13.73/hr
Due to the minimum wage increase at MSU, the starting rate for this position will raise to $15/hr effective 8/9/2026. Those hired prior to 8/9/26 will be brought to the new minimum.
As a member of Forest Akers Outside Operations, you will be responsible for controlling the start of play on the 1st and 10th tee of the golf course, greeting customers and clients, transferring golf bags, cleaning golf clubs, assisting with bag room service, assist with Tournament Operations, monitoring pace of play on golf courses, and cleaning/storing golf carts throughout the day. It is your job to support the Forest Akers golf operation while interacting with a wide range of clients and customers.
Typical Duties May Include:
•Starter: Greet customers, control the start of play on 1st and 10th tees of the golf course, tournament preparation, and effectively communicate Forest Akers polices and procedures
•Outside Attendant: Greet customers, transferring of golf bags to and from customers vehicles, cleaning customers golf clubs, transferring golf carts to and from cart storage facility, clean and store golf carts, and tournament preparation
•Golf Course Assistant (GCA): Control pace of play for both golf courses, enforce Forest Akers policies and procedures, tournament preparation, transferring golf carts to and from cart storage facility, and clean and store golf carts
•Carts: Opening and Closing shifts transfer golf carts from storage facility to and from golf cart staging areas, clean and store golf carts, and help with tournament preparation
•Various related duties as assigned
