Companies will target Broad College students seeking job opportunities and may solicit resumes for review from the Palmer Center. Our team will send all approved resumes to companies.
To be included in these resume books, students are asked to opt-in and to submit their resumes only if it is up to the standard expected for Broad College students. If your resume is not up to Broad College standards, it may be pulled from the resume book. If this occurs, you will be notified via email and the Palmer Center can help you get your resume into acceptable format. Once the resume is up to Broad College standards, you may re-submit your resume for inclusion in the resume book. Should you desire a resume review prior to submitting your resume, please make an appointment with the Palmer Center Team on Handshake. In addition, there are many resume resources available in Handshake to assist you.
To include your resume into the Broad College Resume Books:
– Log into Handshake.
– On your home page, click on Jobs on the top and type “Resume Book” in the search box and look for the appropriate resume book for you
– Click on one of the resume books in which you are interested
– Open the position and click “Quick Apply”; it will open a pop-up box
– Your newest Handshake resume will automatically be attached to your application. If you would like to use a different resume, click the green “X” next to your current resume and Handshake will prompt you to select another resume or upload a new one.
– Once you’ve attached your resume answer the work authorization question and click “Submit Application”.
– You will get a pop-up that confirms your resume is in the book!
– *Note that when you include your resume in the book you are NOT applying for a specific position. Your resume is now part of a resume book that is being sent to multiple companies based on opportunities they may have available. You should continue to apply to other positions, network, attend recruitment events and do all the other applicable career activities offered. Note that submitting your resume to the resume book does not guarantee that you will receive an interview or job offer, only that your resume will be sent to companies who have positions available.
For maximum visibility, once your resume has been approved, we highly recommend making your resume visible on Handshake.
