Keeping organized is essential for meeting the demands of a busy life. We have classes, homework, work, volunteer hours, enrichment activities, and relationship building with peers and friends at Michigan State University. However, what happens when unexpected events impact your schedule? How do you plan for the unexpected?  The most successful time managers anticipate the unexpected. They may not know exactly what will happen, but they have made allowances for the realities of life by reserving some time each day or week for handling issues.  This approach gives people some extra flexibility.  If nothing unexpected has happened, then there is extra time to study or to invest in self-care activities or some extra socializing.
